South East Context

There are approximately 51,970 people living in the area; with 9105 aged between 0 and 19 (18% of the CIP population). The South East contains the wards of Central Southsea, Milton, Eastney and Craneswater and some of Baffins. There is a mix of levels of deprivation both between and within the wards with Eastney and Craneswater being among the most deprived wards in the South Central area. There is a small number of social housing within the area.

The South East CIP's Purpose:

o To raise the standards of all learners and to help the community to realise the potential of all children and young people served by our schools.
o To be committed to supporting the delivery of joined-up, coherent and all encompassing services for children and their families.
o To be equally committed to improving the life chances of all children and young people.

South East CIP Priorities

The South East CIP has recently refreshed and reviewed its priorities in consultation with local partners. It was recognised that there is a large mix of different cultures and communities within the south east and that we need to ensure that we are able to reach and support everyone in an appropriate way and provide universal access to provision for all. The South East CIP has identified four themes to support improvements under; these are Youth Support, Communications, Healthy Lifestyles and Parental & Community Engagement.
