Children's Centres offer a range of high quality services to support parents to be and families with young children aged 0-5. They provide free play opportunities, the chance to contact health professionals, and a place to get help and support. As well as offering services to parents, they also give parents the chance to become involved in what goes on in their children’s centre.

Services that Children’s Centres may provide include:

•    childcare
•    holiday play schemes, drop in sessions, family support and fun activities
•    child and family health services such as breast feeding support
•    help with post natal depression and child health clinics
•    information from Job Centre Plus on training and employment opportunities
•    many run activities such as parent and toddler groups, bounce and rhyme sessions, come and sing sessions and toy  libraries.

There are five Children’s Centres located in the South East CIP area. These Children’s Centres have linked sites which also offer Children’s Centre activities. Some Children’s Centres activities are also held at other sites close to the community such as health centres, community centres and church halls.
